CALLSLIP.INI - SETUP

Remember that you need to setup the Callslip.ini on EVERY WORKSTATION that will be used for processing items in Callslip.

Even if you think you've already done this, please check your setup anyway to make sure that it matches what is included below.

  1. Go to your "C:" drive
  2. Open up the "Voyager" folder
  3. Open up the "Misc" folder
  4. Open up the Callslip.ini notepad document
  5. Click on "Edit", then click on "Select All" to highlight the entire contents of the file
  6. Press "Delete" key
  7. Highlight and copy the Callslip.ini file configuration below
  8. Paste file into the now empty Callslip.ini notepad document
  9. Change the "Originating Institution" to your institution name
  10. If using Email Options, edit the "Email Template UB Unfilled" message line and "Reply to Address"
  11. Click "File" and "Save" document

You will need to make the following changes once you have loaded the new Callslip.ini

  1. Under [Routing Slip Print Template], find the following line:
    "\S16 Originating Institution: XXXX YYYY ZZZZ\s"
    Replace XXXX YYYY ZZZZ with the name of your institution

  2. Under [Email Template UB UnFilled], find the following line:
    "If you need to reply to this message, reply to: xxx@yyy.zzz\"
    Replace xxx@yyy.zzz\ with the email address you wish to use so that you can respond to patrons with questions about their "no-filled" request. We recommend a departmental email address (ex: maincirc@uga.edu) that can be monitored by more than one person.

    Also remember that the "Location Code" has been left blank. When you open Callslip for the first time after loading this file, the system will prompt you to select a location code for your institution. However, if you only have one location code for your institution the system will select that location code and update your Callslip.ini file.

SETTING PREFERENCES IN CALLSLIP

  1. Sign on to "Callslip"
  2. Click "File" and then click "Preferences"; click on the "Universal Borrowing Requests" tab
  3. Click checkbox for "Force Item Search on Process" - this will force you to scan the barcode of the item that you are trying to process. This will help prevent you from sending the wrong book.
  4. Click the tab for Universal Borrowing Requests
  5. Check the checkbox for "Send email for unfilled requests" - an email will be sent to any patron with a valid email address for an "unfilled" request. Please remember that we only want to send emails for "unfilled" requests. DO NOT CLICK THE CHECKBOX FOR "Send email for filled requests".
