1.2.0 About the Top Menu (Updated: 22 March 2011

Information: The Top Menu is a constant menu available to all GIL Support Services web site Users.  It provides a menu-style entrance into the 6 General Areas of interest for GIL librarians and patrons.

Information: The GIL HOME menu provides access to general information concerning the GALILEO Interconnected Libraries - GIL consortium in the state of Georgia.

1.2.1.a About GIL (Updated: 16 March 2011)

Information: The About GIL section provides the User with information about various general topics of interest to GIL Users.

1.2.1.b GIL Governance (Revised and Approved: 12 November 2010)
Link: The GIL Governance is the controlling document which defines how the GALILEO Interconnected Libraries - GIL consortium is organized. It was passed and is periodically modified by the Regents Academic Committee on Libraries - RACL.
1.2.1.c GIL Libraries (Updated: 16 March 2011)

Information:  The GIL Libraries area provides multiple ways to view a listing of the GIL Libraries.  Selecting the GIL-Libraries entry in the GIL Support Services menu will take the User to the GIL Libraries menu of categories.

1.2.1.d GIL-Find Project (Updated: 31 March 2011)

Information: GIL-Find is a major project which the GIL consortium initiated in 2009 to improve the ease of use of the GIL Catalog.  GIL-Find is based on Villinova University’s open-source software known as VUFind.  Selecting the GIL-Find Project entry in the GIL Support Services menu will take the User to the About GIL menu of categories where the User will find the GIL-Find Project item.

1.2.1.e GIL UC Information (Updated: 1 March 2011)

Information:  The GIL UC Information area provides links to information about the GIL Universal Catalog.  Selecting the GIL UC Information entry in the GIL Support Services menu will take the User to the GIL Universal Catalog menu of categories where the User will find information and links associated with the GIL Universal Catalog.

1.2.1.f GIL Express Information (Updated: 1 March 2011)

Information:  The GIL Express Information area provides links to information about GIL Express.  Selecting the GIL Express Information entry in the GIL Support Services menu will take the User to the GIL Express Information menu of categories where the User will find information and links associated with the GIL Express.

1.2.1.g GALILEO Password Links (Updated: 1 March 2011)

Information:  The GALILEO Password Links entry provides the User a link to each of the GIL Library’s “GIL Login” web page.

1.2.1.h Login (Updated: 1 March 2011)
Instructions: The Login link offers all Members the ability to log into the GIL Support Services web site.  All Members of the GIL Support Services web site (as opposed to the General Users) have access to an assigned Login Usename / Password combination whether they are an individual or a group.
