GALILEO Interconnected Libraries - GIL (Updated: 1 March 2011) Information: The GALILEO Interconnected Libraries - GIL project was initiated by the University System of Georgia’s Regents Academic Committee for Libraries in 1996. In the beginning, this initiative started as a project to move all of the USG libraries to multiple and compatible interconnected library systems (ILS). However, due to vendor resistance, it evolved into a search for a single ILS to be installed at all 35 USG libraries. |
