The User’s Help Guide is a brief source of information concerning the purpose and use of various sections of the GIL Support Services Web Site.  The help material is organized in a topical navigation structure and is divided into 5 basic areas based upon the types of Users.

Information: The General User of the GIL Support Services web site is not required to login to the web site to utilize its open resources (access does not require a Username / Password).  However, there does exist specified content which requires a User to be authorized to access the material via a login Username / Password combination.

Information: Member Users of the GIL Support Services web site are divided into two Groups: Users by Name and Users by Library.  This distinction is used to provide access authority to specified restricted items maintained on this web site.

Information: Editor Users of the GIL Support Services web site are provided additional access privileges so they can add, modify and delete entries as well as upload documents in a variety of the common formats.

Information: GIL Support Staff Users of the GIL Support Services web site are provided additional access privileges so they can add, modify and delete entries as well as upload documents in a variety of the common formats.  Generally speaking, the GIL Support Staff Users are employed by one of the GIL Service Sites. 

Information: The Administrators of the GIL Support Services web site are provided complete access privileges to the GIL Support Services web site’s Control Panel.  Generally speaking, the Administrators are the controllers of the GIL Support Services web site with unlimited privileges.
