User's Help Guide:

Edit - Options Area (Updated: 7 April 2011)

Return to User’s Help Guide Menu for Edit Section

Instructions:  The Options Area provides the Editors with the ability to modify several parameters for a published item.  The following primary Options are available to the Editors (see Sample Options Area below):
  • A. Author - Editors may change the Author for an Entry using the available drop-down list.  By default, the entry previously selected as the Author is shown in the Author box.
  • B. Section - this option is only available when editing an entry.  This drop-down list contains all of the Categories that share the same variable fields with the current Category for the Entry.  Using this Option,  the Editors can move an Entry from one Category to another Category or assign it to multiple Categories.
  • C. Status - there are two primary Statuses that are always available: “Open” and “Closed”.  Typically, “open” Entries are viewable at your site, and “closed” Entries are not.  Additional Statuses may have been added by the web site’s Administrators and are included in a drop-down list.
  • D. Options - check the desired Options (see Secondary Options below):
        i. Make Sticky - If this option is checked, then the entry will be “stuck” at the top of the list when displaying multiple entries. This can be useful for things like announcement posts.
ii. Allow Comments - If this option is checked, then comments will be allowed for this entry. When this option is unchecked, your Comment Submission form will be suppressed. Any existing Comments will still appear.
iii. DST Active on Date of Entry - Daylight Savings Time parameter.
