The User’s Help Guide is a brief source of information concerning the purpose and use of various sections of the GIL Support Services Web Site. In several cases the information provided has been obtained from the ExpressionEngine User Guide (updated: 15 October 2010).  This User’s Help Guide is maintained for the GIL Support Services web site Users and will be updated as needed to better communicate information about this web site.  The help material is organized in a topical navigation structure and is divided into 5 basic areas based upon the types of Users.  There are 5 major categories of Users:
  • 1. General Users
  • 2. Members
  • 3. Editors
  • 4. GIL Support Staff
  • 5. Administrators
  • In addition, there are 3 basic types of information provided in the User’s Help Guide:
  • 1. Information - which is informative in nature, describing an area, service, feature, etc. of the web site
  • 2. Instructions - which provide instructions on “how to do” or “what to do” concerning a specific topic.
  • 3. Link -  provides links that - in most cases - are to external resources that are not part of the GIL Support Services web site; also the Link type of information will open a new window / tab when the link is clicked.
