The upgrade to Voyager 8.2 has been completed! The last server was upgraded late on 21 December 2012. All GIL Libraries can now install the Voyager 8.2 clients on all of their Voyager workstations.
Read StoryThe University System of Georgia Libraries continue to host several WIMBA informational sessions as they do research for their move to a Next Generation Library System. It is currently being planned to have a session in the Spring on “OCLC WorldShare Management Services (WMS)”. This WIMBA session will include a discussion and live demonstration of the OCLC WMS. During February 2012 and prior to this WIMBA session OCLC will provide several online sessions concerning OCLC WMS.
Read StoryThe University System of Georgia Libraries continue researching for their move to a Next Generation Library System by hosting several WIMBA informational sessions. Session 2 was held 14 December 2011 and titled: “Collection Management in a Global Information Environment.” This session was presented by Michael Levine-Clark, Collections Librarian and Professor, Penrose Library, University of Denver, Denver, Colorado. Topics concerning trends and issues of collection management/development in a world that Is transitioning from print to electronic and where information is more abundant were discussed.
