Oracle Upgrade - Round 2
This Sunday 9/21 we upgraded Oracle software on gil8 and gilatuga6 (see below for affected institutions). The upgrade will began at 6am and was completed by 8:30am, but the outage window was scheduled until 10am just in case. The Voyager clients, GIL Classic OPAC, and GIL Express functionality were unavailable during this time. GIL-Find continued to function but was not able to show item status.

USG Libraries to Upgrade to Voyager 9.0
The GIL Support Group is making plans to upgrade the GIL servers to Voyager 9.0.0 during the Holiday break in December. In preparation for this upgrade, we needed to upgrade the Oracle on the GIL servers from 22.214.171.124 to 126.96.36.199. As you can see, this was not a major upgrade, and can be applied relatively quickly.
We scheduled the Oracle upgrade over three consecutive Sunday mornings, starting with Sunday, September 14th. The upgrade began at around 6:00AM and was scheduled to be completed around 10:00 AM
In order to not cause too much of a disruption, we upgraded two servers each Sunday, starting with the gilatuga5 server at UGA and the gsu9 server at GSU (see affected databases below), and we rebooted GIL8. Below is a list of affected institutions.
