Additional GIL Alma Implementation Information

Institutions Working On Voyager to Alma Test Migration

All institutions are currently developing instructions for the project team and vendor to use during the test Voyager to Alma migration. The migration instructions will be submitted by August 19th. To guide the work, all institutional leads are meeting every other week to receive the latest information. The institutions also have access to a documentation center that provides them with a variety of resources including: vanguard findings, implementation team suggestions, and Ex Libris documentation. Between the meetings, the institutional leads can consult with peers or with the project team/vendor via listservs and Basecamp. Progress continues!

All Institutions Begin Bi-Weekly Meetings

With the start of the Institutional Phase of the project, comes the start of the bi-weekly meetings facilitated via WebEx. These meetings are designed to work through project deliverables one by one while providing lessons learned from our vanguards. Please reach out to your institutional lead if you want to know more details about what is going on!

Vanguard Phase Concluding; All Institutions Phase Starting

While the Vanguards will continue testing and documenting findings, the project now turns its attention to all institutions. On July 12th, 2016, we begin our bi-weekly meetings with the institutional leads from all institutions. These meetings will contain information from the vendor, the vanguards, and implementation team. Our first goal is to prepare for a test migration of data from our current system, Voyager, to our next generation system, Alma. We are excited to begin this phase of the project!
